Breville makes some of the best centrifugal juicers in the market and I have been using the Breville JE98XL Centrifugal Juicer since 2010 and I am really happy that I can make myself a health drink in minutes. This particular model is a great buy considering the reasonable price tag.
Unlike the entry BJE200XL model, this one comes with a bigger 850 watt motor which can an be used at two speed settings. This is very helpful while juicing hard and soft varieties of fruits and vegetables. This model also includes a separate disposable basket.
It’s small and compact and easily fits on my counter-top. It is equipped with a heavy-duty 850-watt motor and does a great job without the problem of overheating. It has a stainless steel centered knife blade and a stainless steel micro mesh filter for separating the juice from the pulp. An extra-wide, 3-inch across feed chute makes it possible to feed whole apples, carrots, tomatoes, and peeled oranges into the juicer, saving you time and effort.
Accessories include pitcher with froth separator, which helps pour the juice with minimum froth and a cleaning brush for the stainless-steel mesh basket.
Two speeds allow you to adjust for the type of ingredients you are using. It is suggested that when juicing a variety of ingredients with varying textures, you begin with the softer textured ingredients on low-speed then change to high speed for harder texture ingredients. If you are juicing herbs, sprouts or leafy green vegetables either wrap them together to form a bundle or juice them in the middle of a combination of ingredients on low-speed to obtain the best extraction. Since certain greens like spinach give small quantity of juice so I do recommend re-using the pulp to extract the optimal amount juice out of it.
Breville maintains that their Nutri Disc and patented juicing system extract more nutrients than other similar juicers and transfers less than 1.8F of heat to protect enzymes and maximize nutrient absorption of select nutrients.
Ensure to clean the juicer immediately after use, as otherwise the dried pulp can be time consuming to clean. Cleaning is quiet easy but the mesh can occasionally get clogged with residue, which can be cleaned with a strong spray of water. The juicer cover, pulp container, filter basket and pitcher are all dishwasher safe.
Overall I am satisfied with the Breville Juicer which have been using since 2010 and it suits my requirements of making a quick healthy drink!
